Introduction

Have you been going through a hard time? Has a loved one died or have you lost your job? Or are you just down and out and not feeling good about yourself? Or do you find yourself lonely and abandoned? It does not matter what problems have come your way, God Almighty in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ comes to you right now and is with you.  This passage from the prophet Isaiah affirms that truth.

But now thus says the Lord,
he who created you, O Jacob,
he who formed you, O Israel:
“Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by name, you are mine.
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you;
when you walk through fire you shall not be burned,
and the flame shall not consume you. (Isaiah 43:1 - 2, ESV)

Here the Lord gives a message not only to His ancient people Israel, but also to you. The Lord says that it is He and He alone who created you. He alone formed you. Meditate on this passage.

I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. (Psalm 139:14, KJV )

Yes, you have been marvelously and miraculously created by God Almighty. You are made in His image, in His likeness! So now turn to the Lord God Almighty and confess to Him that you have strayed far from His presence and are in dire need of His help.

Now, note that the Lord says, "I have redeemed you." To redeem a person is to buy them back and release them from slavery. That is exactly what Jesus Christ has done for you on the cross! There, the Lord of life was crucified and hung out to die before all the people of Jerusalem. Why did He die? It was to save you from your sins.

For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. (2 Corinthians 5:21, ESV)

Basically, Jesus took all of your sins upon Himself so that the incredible debt that we owe  God for our sins should be fully and completely paid. When you trust Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, all your sins are forgiven, and you become a child of God Most High!

This is the message that I bring to you, dear reader. It is the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ the Lord. Here there will be messages of comfort for those who, in the words of Christ, " labor and are heavy laden." Trust in Jesus Christ and He will forgive you and give you His peace,  the peace that surpasses all human understanding.  Amen.

 [kd1]Check the punctuation on this passage. Some of this is a direct quote from the Lord and needs quotation marks

 [kd2]I would use the ESV translation all the way through
